Summit Dermatology is proud to be one of the first elite practices in the Pacific Northwest to offer CoolTone from the makers of CoolSculpting.  CoolTone was FDA cleared in 2019 to strengthen, tighten, and tone muscles of the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks.

How Does Cooltone Work?

CoolTone uses high-powered electromagnetic stimulation applicators to induce maximum muscle contractions, resulting in increased muscle mass and strength.  The frequency of muscle contractions produced by CoolTone are at a level that cannot be achieved by normal exercise alone.

What Areas Can Cooltone Treat?

CoolTone can be used on the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs.  During treatment, an applicator delivers electromagnetic stimulation to contract muscles.  Approximately 25,000 muscle contractions occur during a single session. The muscles respond with remodeling and developing more muscle tissue, similar to intense exercising.  The process results in natural looking toning and contouring of the body.  One treatment session typically lasts about 30-45 minutes.

How Does Cooltone Differ From Emsculpt?

Emsculpt was released over a year ago and was one of the first muscle toning and muscle building devices.  At this time, there are no clinical studies comparing the efficacy of Emsculpt versus the newer CoolTone.  However, CoolTone delivers a higher amount of muscle stimulating electromagnetic energy than Emsculpt.  CoolTone has 50% greater electromagnetic power than Emsculpt (1.35T versus 0.9T).

How Does Cooltone Differ From Coolsculpting?

CoolSculpting is a proven way to treat excess body fat by freezing the fat cells away.  CoolSculpting has already been established as the most effective non-surgical fat loss treatment.  The new CoolTone treatment compliments the results of CoolSculpting by increasing muscle mass and muscle toning, both of which resulting in additional fat loss.

Can Cooltone and Coolsculpting Be Done at the Same Session?

Yes, CoolSculpting and CoolTone can be performed back to back to maximize the results of fat and muscle sculpting.  CoolTone is performed first, followed by CoolSculpting.  The abdomen is a very popular area for combination CoolSculpting + CoolToning treatments to reduce fat and build muscles, all without surgery or recovery time.

What Results Will I See?

CoolTone treatments strengthen, tighten, and tone the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks.  Although most patients see results after the first treatment, a series of treatments is recommended for significant improvement.

How Many Cooltone Treatments Are Recommended?

A protocol of 4 treatments over 2 weeks is recommended for significant improvement followed by maintenance treatments to maintain results.  Maintenance treatments can be done quarterly to monthly depending on your objectives.

Am I a Good Candidate for Cooltone?

If you’re looking for a non-invasive treatment to increase muscle tone and strengthen the core, CoolTone may be the solution for you.  CoolTone produces results that are equivalent to doing 25,000 or more sit-ups in an hour with minimum discomfort, side effects, and no recovery time.  Patients can go back to their normal daily routine, including going to the gym, immediately after the treatment.
