What is Moxi?
Moxi is a nonablative laser resurfacing, at 1927nm, ideal for patients just beginning their skincare journey. Its gentle approach makes it suitable for all skin types year-round. It was developed for individuals looking to improve early signs of sun damage and aging before they worsen, targeting both pigmentation and tonal irregularities. This lunchtime procedure can fit into your active lifestyle any time of the year.
How Does It Work?
Moxi delivers fractionated laser energy to create micro-coagulation zones which the body then repairs, replacing damaged cells with fresh new cells. Moxi is designed to improve skin color and texture with low downtime, resulting in skin renewal.
How Comfortable is the Treatment?
Depending on the level of treatment, most patients find the treatment well tolerated. Your provider may apply a numbing cream to make the treatment more comfortable.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
This will depend on your treatment goals and level of sun damage. Most patients need 3-5 treatments spaced a month apart for correction and then maintenance treatments throughout the year.
How Long Does It Take to See Results?
Results vary depending on your treatment goals. For the day following your treatment, your skin may appear red and, depending on your level of treatment, you may see small micro dots called MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) where the laser was applied. As the micro zones heal, they will darken and feel rough. Between days 3-5, the MENDs will slough off, revealing the renewed skin beneath.
Can I Combine This With Other Treatments?
Yes, you may combine Moxi with other treatments to further enhance results. The classic combination treatment is with BBL to further even out skin color and smoothen texture. In this combination, you would first get BBL followed by Moxi. Dermaplane can also be added prior to Moxi to optimize laser energy absorption.
What is the Post Care?
Because this is a non-ablative fractionated laser treatment, the post-care is simple. During the 3-5 days immediately after treatment, you should use gentle skincare which includes wearing a moisturizing physical sunscreen and staying out of the sun. You may wear make-up 24 hours after your treatment.
